A Note from The Author
I discuss cruising myths near the beginning of The Cruise Traveler’s Handbook. These are the objections and beliefs that I used to have about cruising before experiencing my first one in 2004, and they are the same ones that I still hear from people that have not yet been on a cruise. By addressing them head-on I hope that I open everyone’s mind to cruising. Something I wish someone had done for me earlier.
Cruising as a vacation choice is now my preferred way of exploring the world. It has taken me to places I would never have gone to otherwise, and revealed experiences and sights I would have missed if I had stuck to doing land based vacations only.
I believe that the way that cruising is growing and developing there is now a way of cruising and a cruise option for everyone. No matter on a traveler’s interests and passions there is an unforgettable cruise on some ocean, river or canal for them. That is why in The Cruise Traveler’s Handbook I wanted to look at and explore a wide range of cruising options available and how to decide which will be best suited to different types of travelers. It is designed to help first time cruisers make the leap and open existing cruisers minds to new and different cruising options too.
